      2. FolderDiatonic Harmonicas Top harps for professionals and amateurs alike! Thanks to their excellent response and great tone, diatonic harmonicas from Hohner have earned a worldwide reputation for the finest quality. These harmonicas, constructed according to the Richter system, are single note instruments and can be recognized by their undivided air channels. They are frequently referred to as “Blues Harps" and are primarily used as melody instruments in blues, rock, pop, country and folk as well as other styles. By allowing the blow and draw reed in each hole to interact, their undivided air channels permit bending and overblowing of certain notes in order to create the typical wailing blues sound as well as offering the missing chromatic notes.

Thanks to continual upgrades, the Chromonica series not only remains the world's best seliing chromatic harmonica, but is also the basis for all subsequent developments in this field, one of the timeless Hohner inventions which have defined the harmonica history of the past hundred years.

        4. FolderCX12 Line The CX-12 represents the greatest single innovation in commercial chromonica manufacture since HOHNER‘s introduction of the first chromatic harmonica in 1912. The concept was the brainchild of Gerhard Knoppek, a HOHNER R&D staff member who in 1991 was given the task of thinking up a radically new chromatic instrument. Knoppek‘s construction was brilliantly simple - the comb and reed plate assembly is mounted in a one piece mouthpiece / housing unit and held in place by a powerful metal spring at the back. The slide can be removed instantly, but is exceptionally airtight. Disassembly and reassembly of these components takes only seconds and requires no tools. The CX-12 was presented on the Frankfurt Music Trade Fair in 1992 and went on to win a major German industrial design prize. It is the preferred axe of chromatic luminaries such as Bill Barrett from Hazmat Modine or LA studio crack Tollak Ollestad and is regarded by many as the most airtight and user-friendly chromatic on the market.

Larger channel openings in combination with the projecting mouthpiece ensure great response and make it easier for the beginning player to hit single notes accurately. The Chrometta was first released in 1956 and introduced the concept of a divided slide, integrated into the comb/mouthpiece unit, which is still used in this model today. This feature makes the harmonica very service-friendly and is resistant against moisture as well as gliding easily on the lips.

      4. FolderTremolo Harmonicas The tremolo harmonica‘s distinguishing feature is that it has two reeds per note, with one slightly sharp and the other slightly flat. These so called 2-voice instruments are ideally suitable for traditional folk music.

Steven is not just a harmonica player. His sound is pretty unique. Heʼs got a whole arsenal of mouth organs (bass, diatonic and chromatic) and a clever use of electronic pedals to shape his sound. Sometimes you wonʼt even think itʼs a harmonica.
    138. PageSteve Esteban Jordan Esteban “Steve” Jordan also known as "El Parche," "the Jimi Hendrix of the accordion," "the accordion wizard," and other monikers. Being born in a migrant farm worker family and partially blinded as an infant je wasn't able to join the rest of the family in the fields, so they left him with the older migrants who could no longer work. Esteban was already at a young age introduced to conjunto music, especially the accordion playing of Valerio Longoria. These circumstances brought the two together and the young Esteban learned the instrument quickly. He then took up other instruments, most notably the guitar, and now, by his own account, he can play 35 different instruments. Leading his Zydeco Experience Band, Simien has become a highly respected, internationally recognized touring and recording artist and Cultural Ambassador for his state. He has presented thousands of performances, toured millions of miles to over 40 countries and reached at least a million people during his eventful 25 year career. Born (appropriately!) in 1965 into the hippie folk and soul music era, Simien grew artistically being influenced by all of the great music that has defined our country’s musical legacy, including music from that era. He was as influenced by Dylan and Simon and Garfunkel as he was by Marvin Gaye, Sam Cooke and the Meters. And of course hailing from one of the first Creole families documented to have settled St. Landry Parish he was deeply affected by the great Zydeco music pioneers like Chenier, Delafose, Chavis, Ardoin and Fontenot to name a few. He counts himself one of the fortunate, as he is the last generation with a direct link to these pioneers, some of whom mentored him as an emerging artist.
