Top Endorsers and up-coming soloists at SPAH Convention in the USA

23.07.2010

The stars of the international harmonica scene come together from August 17th - 22nd in Bloomington, Minnesota for the biggest harmonica event in the USA, the SPAH Convention. Numerous Hohner artists presenting breathtaking concerts and fascinating workshops include overblow pioneer and jazz master Howard Levy, worldwide leading Marine Band customizer Joe Filisko, Steve Baker, long regarded as one of the finest players in Europe, or Dick Gardner, who previously worked for Hohner USA and was a member of the legendary Harmonicats.

Also in attendance is Susan Sauter, a talented young chromatic player and member of the Hohnerklang Orchestra. Her convincing performance at the World Harmonica Festival 2009 in Trossingen not only delighted the audience and won her first place in the Open Category competition, but also brought her to the attention of SPAH president Tom Stryker, who invited her as newcomer soloist to appear on the Saturday evening concert at the SPAH convention, accompanied by her duo partner, Hohner Conservatory graduate Mario Nortmann. For Susan Sauter, who like Mario Nortmann regularly plays with the the Hohnerklang Orchestra from Trossingen, this concert trip is her first opportunity to perform in front of an informed and enthusiastic American audience.
