SPAH 51

The 51st annual convention of the Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica met in St. Louis for the second year in a row at the Renaissance St. Louis Airport Hotel from August 5th through the 9th.

Many Hohner endorsees performed, held harmonica workshops or just showed up in support of the covention including Dennis Gruenling, David Barrett, Kirk Jellyroll Johnson, Phil Duncan, David Berntson, James Conway, Joe Filisko, R.J. Mischo, Ronnie Shellist, T.J. Klay, Todd Parrott, Tom Stryker, Carson Diersing and many more.

Congratulations to Hohner Endorsee Mike Caldwell for winning the special recognition award at this year's SPAH, as well as to Buddy Greene who won the Bernie Bray Harmonica Player of the Year Award and to all the other 2014 award winners.

Hohner President Clayman Edwards had the following to say about the convention:

"Hohner is extremely proud of SPAH, its clubs and the work that is performed by SPAH every day to advance the joy of playing the harmonica. Obviously the Hohner Company will continue its Gold Sponsor support of SPAH. In addition, we are addressing ways to combine our Road Show initiatives with SPAH to get more people engaged in the individual clubs and playing this fantastic instrument.

So while the world is changing dramatically around us and as we strive every day to realign ourselves with your needs and changes in technology and business, at Hohner we will strive to never forget that its all about serving you, the Music and Musicians, in the greatest industry we could ever dream of working in."
