Hohner at SPAH 2016 in San Antonio, TX
Hohner is headed to San Antonio to attend the 53rd annual SPAH Convention! We are very excited to be the Gold sponsor of this prestigious event. Come visit our booth and witness the unveiling of two new and amazing harmonicas. Once and for all Hohner can demonstrate and settle “The Great Comb Debate”.
The Society for the Preservation and Advancement of the Harmonica (“SPAH”) (a 501c3 non-profit organization) was started in 1963 by a group of Michiganders so they could meet and play music together, share skills, write arrangements, swap know-how, and grow the harmonica community. As a result, to this day SPAH is a unique community with which to share experiences, knowledge, style, tone, and our love and passion for the harmonica. As a 53-year old organization, and the nation’s pre-eminent non-profit representing the instrument and its players, SPAH celebrates a wonderful community and the foresight that their founders had in launching SPAH with these objectives.
SPAH has an exciting 2016 Convention planned at the Ell Tropicano Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio August 9-13, 2016 - their first visit to “The Alamo City”.
As of today, performers this year include Robert Bonfiglio, Peter "Madcat" Ruth, Dave Moore, The Gardner/Watne/Sgro Trio, Bill Barrett, Jamey Garner, Brendan Power & Jimi Lee, Johnny Sansone, Buddy Greene, Grant Demondy, Enrico Granafei and others - plus the fabulous youth, Filisko and Rubin all-stars! Then there is the Filisko teach-in, and a host of excellent seminars are in the works! Final details (subject to change) will be published in conjunction with the program at the SPAH website.
