Peter Braukmann

Biography

Peter Braukmann was born in 1953. He grew ur in Bockenem near Hannover and studied in Hildesheim. Peter was the director of the university folk club until 1975.

In 1971 he had his first gig in the Thurso Folk Club. In 1977 the duo Schnappsack had 150 concerts annually in the FRG, Switzerland, Austria, Netherlands and Denmark. Until 1990 Peter was a producer for records and live programs e.g. for Elbke Heidenreich, Erika Pluhar, Gerd Dudenhöffer, Schmetterlinge and more.

From 1990 to 2004 Peter was a director and producer of German TV comedy including: Creative Producer on german Saturday Night (RTL), Head of Development for the Wochenshow and much more for SAT1 "Caretaker Krause".
Since 2005 Peter is primarily a songwriter and musician. In 2006 he participated in the german folk rock project "Schönewelle" with George Kranz. Two years later he had a "Schnappsack Revival" with Karsten Jahnke as a manager.
